ConSim_Kosovo_2008
ConSim_Kosovo_2008, 3-10 October 2008
Together with wonderful participants we realized the Conflict-Simulation-Seminar_2008 in Novo Brdo/Novoberde [Kosovo]. During the 7 days we got to know each other very well and a lot of friendships have been formed. We all had a very intense time! Besides the interpersonal experiences we learned a lot about the Kosovo-issue, its stakeholders and about ourselves.
For 7 days 20 participants from Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia came together, in order to simulate the near future of Kosovo and the region. Within the first two days of the seminar we prepared ourselves for the simulation-game with the aid of local experts in the field of conflict-management. Afterwards we simulated for two days a possible scenario of the Kosovo issue. During the evaluation of the seminar we agreed on the potentials of simulation-gaming and its capacities to procure political dynamics and processes.
Watch and enjoy your memories. Or if you haven't participated yet, start watching out for simulation-games around.
„The simulation can be used in many different settings and subjects with only slight adaptations."Lulzim Bucolli, Partner Balkan Sunflowers, Kosovo
„It was quite creative and made us reflect and learn..." Luljeta Berisha, Kosovo
"The Simulation did not really change my point of view on the Kosovo dispute and only a few more information on actors were added but it increased the awareness of political (miss)communication/understandings, cooperation and the feeling of reality". Dace Saltane, Latvia
„The simulation was such a great experience for the participants. Use this motivation. It is important to come back to Kosovo and continue what you've started." Valdete Idrizi, CBM, Mitrovica
„Next time try to get more Serbs as participants." Roduljub Miletić, Serbia
What you missed...
++ How does a head of state think? ++ Why do conflicts escalate? ++ How do international stakeholders act? ++ Why doesn't peace occur faster? ++ What role does the press play? ++
Are you interested in these questions, not only in their theoretical but also in their practical application? Do you want to understand the behaviour of international actors? Do you want to learn more about international conflicts in an informal and friendly atmosphere?
