What is CRISP?

CRISP is the advancement from the students project „crisis game“, which is a Simulation game that annually takes place with the backing of the Otto-Suhr-Institut of the Freie Universität Berlin. All members of CRISP organised the „Crisis Game“ over several years and have therefore a longtime experience with the method „Simulation game“. Whereas the target group of the „Crisis Game“ are students, CRISP is offering education services across the university. Potential Co-operation partners for the simulation of political decisionmaking are NGOs, public service institutions, and the research and educations field.

We people of CRISP are convinced, that with the simulating examination of conflicts, there will be a new and differentiated access to the understanding and treatment of conflicts. The simulation game leads to an extended understanding of conflict-constellations on the political-institutional level and provides furthermore the opportunity to gain insights of the individual skills through the own realisation of political decisonmaking.

Because of our longtime experience with simulation games, we are convinced of the effectiveness of this new learning method. The success story „crisis game“ has shown that simulation games should play an important role in the practical conflict treatment.
